This original mixed-media assemblage by Sarasota artist Debra Rich celebrates the nostalgia and magic of The Wizard of Oz, with repurposed spice tins representing Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow. An oil can and funnel create the Tin Man, while a crystal cabinet knob forms the Scarecrow's head. The characters are set against a glittered yellow brick road. Handcrafted from repurposed spice tins, wool, fabric, and found objects, this whimsical assemblage transforms everyday materials into a dimensional tribute to one of the most beloved stories in American culture.
