Here we see a desert mountain with plants that are native. This is the sight every UTEP student sees and walks by as they begin the ascent of Cardiac Hill, or its descent. However, if you were to mindlessly walk by it, you would miss the many lizards that inhabit it. As I walk out of the building I work in, this is always what greets me and reminds me of how beautiful the desert can be when it’s hot outside. Like me, I’m sure many UTEP students who walk by this feel the same way - it gives us a chance to slow down for a second and even zone out. I feel that from this scene, people on the outside - and even the inside - are able to appreciate the campus from a natural perspective. From this image, I would want a student or decision-maker to consider how green and adaptable the community is.
