Ahi Evran Among Craftsmen

A hand-painted watercolor tribute centers on the bearded spiritual figure Ahi Evran, shown beneath a broad golden halo inscribed with his name. A mosque minaret, domed buildings, leafy trees, birds, and small scenes of seated craftsmen surround the dignified portrait, while a scroll, open book, quill, and crossed branches anchor the lower foreground. The work has the intimate, commemorative character of devotional folk illustration, with expressive outlines and softly layered washes that give the historical tableau a warm, reverent presence.
