Carnival Beneath the Scales

A densely populated folk-art scene unfolds like a child's theatrical world, with a monumental gray-bearded figure balancing scales inside a moonlike circle while a giant hand cradles a blue form at the center. Around it, colorful stalls, puppeteers, costumed figures, carts, performers, and small domestic tableaux fill the ground beneath a starry blue sky and red tent canopy. Heavy black outlines, hand-drawn patterning, and lively shifts in scale give the work an imaginative, storybook energy.
