The Scales of Humanity

A richly detailed figurative illustration centers on a bearded elder in a white turban beneath an ornate balance scale, while smaller figures gather around books, tools, vessels, and layered hands in the foreground. Architectural forms suggest a historic Middle Eastern setting, and the crowded vertical composition gives the scene the character of an allegorical mural about judgment, labor, knowledge, and shared human life. Fine contours, patterned garments, and carefully modeled faces lend the work a narrative, storybook presence.
