Eye Within the Storm

A fiercely textured portrait emerges from a dense field of scraped and layered pigment, its oversized blue eye fixed at the center like an exposed inner world. The face dissolves into charcoal blacks, earthy browns, saturated reds, turquoise, and flashes of metallic-looking white, while vertical bands of luminous color press in from the sides. Heavy impasto, abrasion, and gestural marks give the work a raw, restless presence characteristic of an emotionally charged contemporary painting.
