An expressive figurative painting presents a reclining nude woman amid sweeping blue drapery, while a large, loosely rendered form occupies the foreground like a mask or sleeping figure. The composition is driven by strong diagonals and broad, visibly worked strokes, with the warm red background intensifying the contrast between the cool fabrics and luminous body. Its theatrical arrangement and unstable contours give the scene a dreamlike, intimate tension.
