A World Made by Hand

A hand-painted poster gathers cheerful figures, a small artist at work, a richly marked palette, swirling landscape forms, and ribbon-like lettering into a lively educational composition. Heavy black outlines give the characters a cartoon presence, while translucent painted passages and uneven edges preserve the warmth of handmade work. The large smiling figure at the upper right anchors the composition, with the painter and palette guiding the eye downward through the blue and green field of the design.
