The Forest Burns Within

A sharp-edged collage assembles a black bear, an open metal lighter, a soaring bird, and a burning conifer forest beneath a Spanish newspaper headline about wildfires. Cut-paper contours and photographic fragments create a deliberately surreal visual collision, while the bear’s glowing eyes and the flame rising from the lighter give the central arrangement an emblematic, almost prophetic force. Black-and-white textures, scorched oranges, and hazard-striping at the base frame the work as an urgent meditation on ecological disaster and human responsibility.
