Weathered Light Over Water

A nearly abstract waterscape emerges through layers of muted mineral color, with a low horizon dividing a luminous, clouded atmosphere from dark reflective shallows. Fine craquelure spreads across the surface like aged varnish, while irregular flashes of gold catch along the upper sky and lower banks. The softened forms and weathered ground give the piece the presence of an antique landscape recovered from time.
