Butterflies Beneath the Tree

A cheerful childlike garden scene fills the paper with a tall green tree, a broad textured canopy, and a scattering of bright orange and pink butterflies in flight. The simple forms and energetic marks suggest an expressive handmade painting, while the surrounding pinecones, brush, and craft materials emphasize its playful studio setting. The open white ground gives each butterfly room to float across the composition.
