Sheep in a Lavender Meadow

A charming childlike portrait of a sheep fills the center, its softly textured gray face outlined in bold black and crowned by a scalloped tuft of wool. Two long, simple legs extend below, while an irregular ring of pale, rounded marks surrounds the animal like a wreath of blossoms or clouds against the lavender ground. The direct frontal composition, expressive eyes, and tactile surface give the piece a gentle handmade warmth.
