A historical process illustration presents papermaking as a carefully coordinated sequence of labor: workers soak, pound, strain, press, dry, and stack sheets beside vats, frames, baskets, and steaming vessels. Fine ink contours define the many small gestures and tools, while restrained washes of blue, ochre, brown, and green distinguish clothing and materials across the open workshop. Chinese characters along the lower edge identify the subject as the Han-era papermaking process, giving the work the clarity of a visual lesson.
