Two closely embracing figures meet in an intimate, obscured kiss, their faces concealed beneath pale fabric that gathers into sculptural folds. Dark clothing and a vivid red sleeve anchor the lower portion of the composition, while the flat turquoise ground creates an uncanny, dreamlike setting. The carefully modeled forms and crisp contouring give the scene the polished, enigmatic character of a modern symbolic painting.
