Woman in Chromatic Wind

A vivid profile portrait turns a woman’s face toward the right while sweeping ribbons of hair and color stream across the dark ground. Saturated arcs of coral, turquoise, violet, yellow, and blue define the locks with lively, gestural contours, while the simplified pale face and sharply painted lips create a calm focal point amid the surrounding motion. The flattened forms and emphatic color contrasts give the work an energetic, contemporary expressionist character.
