A close, atmospheric study of an aged metal padlock, its curved shackle and pitted body emerging from deep blue-black surroundings. The tight crop turns an ordinary object into a sculptural presence, while subdued side lighting catches traces of bronze and steel across its worn surfaces. Much of the lock recedes into darkness, giving the composition a quiet, mysterious gravity.
