Court Beneath the Arch

A richly patterned historical mural presents mounted figures, attendants, and a formal row of bearded rulers beneath a monumental arched gateway. Flat silhouettes, decorative costumes, patterned armor, and carefully repeated motifs evoke the narrative clarity of Persian miniature painting translated into a large wall composition, while the deep blue ground gives the courtly scene a theatrical presence. A contemporary portrait in the foreground partially obscures the lower portion of the mural.
