The artwork is a three-dimensional wooden or brass sculpture depicting a standing Sarimanok bird adorned with elaborate, relief-carved geometric and scrolling ukkil motifs along its body and wings. The sculpture features a tall, vertical axis accentuated by a circular crown element on its head and angular, outstretched wings that balance its heavy, cylindrical base. This stylized figure reflects a majestic interpretation of the Maranao folk icon, symbolizing protective status, royalty, and an architectural connection to the traditional Moro torogan communal house. The piece is highly successful because its clean sculptural form retains the raw texture of the material while introducing a sense of permanence and monumental dignity to a traditional legendary entity.
