sweet details

“Sweet Details” is a series of detailed pencil drawings that zoom in on the textures and the components of desserts. From the fudgy layer of cake to the glossy sheen of icing and the sharp reflection of glasses, each piece captures the essence of indulgence through pencil and patience. I was inspired by Sarah Graham and Wayne Thiebaud and how different their art was compared to traditional art of desserts and their ability to play with perspective. By capturing these sweet moments up close, the familiar treats become new and intriguing —inviting viewers to see these desserts not just as treats, but as textures, tones, and individual artworks put together to form a new creation in “sweet details”.
