The Coliseum of Misery and Humilation

A dark fantasy painting centers on a hooded, nearly silhouetted figure approaching a radiant arched opening beneath a vast circular structure. Fiery orange fissures and molten-looking highlights cut through the surrounding blackness, while the intense yellow doorway becomes the compositional and emotional focal point. Broad, gestural marks and scraped passages give the scene a turbulent, otherworldly energy, suggesting a perilous passage through fire and shadow.
