Bronze Age War Tools

Bronze Age War Tools is the practice of Charlie McNamara, whose finely observed works explore ancient weapons, armor, ceremonial objects, and equestrian forms. Across bronze sculpture, patinated surfaces, and digital photography, McNamara focuses on the ridges, openings, weathering, and mottled textures that give artifacts their presence. Quietly atmospheric and tactile, the work turns swords, shields, helmets, spearheads, and battle horses into objects of contemplation, carrying stories of ritual, conflict, and endurance.
