The Measure of Becoming

A surreal allegorical drawing centers on a solemn face crowned by an hourglass-like vessel, where gears, flames, and a textured earth form a symbolic architecture of time and transformation. A globe rises behind the vessel beneath a star-filled blue sky, while roses, a black-centered sun, and reaching hands introduce themes of beauty, mortality, and human agency. Fine black outlines contain colored-pencil and watercolor-like passages, giving the work the intimate, handmade character of an illustrated visionary manuscript.
