Watercolour on paper · Botanical Illustration
I chose this artwork because I’m a big fan of nature, and I love how it calms my nerves and stops the whole moment, bringing peace in me. The techniques that were most difficult were lighting and shading. You see, for watercolour, you don’t just make your mark and rub off the mistake like with pencil. Watercolour needs patience, control, and you must just be in the moment. What I am most proud of is that even though I can’t replicate Shannon’s artworks, I still was creative and carried on with my artwork, and it actually came out okay. What I could do to improve next time is have patience with my artworks, understanding that not every one of my artworks will be the same, but still being creative. I could also improve in differentiating light and shadow.
