Tangle Beneath the Dark

A contemporary figurative painting presents several intertwined human figures half-submerged in pale, rumpled fabric. Limbs cross and overlap in an intricate, almost knot-like arrangement, while a blue-green face emerges near the upper left with closed eyes and a strained expression. Warm ochre and russet arms punctuate the cool folds, and the cropped composition presses the bodies against a deep, textured darkness, giving the scene the charged stillness of a troubled dream.
