Hand-drawn Arabic calligraphic forms interlock across the page in a tall, architectural composition. Sweeping blue strokes curve around block-like passages of pale gold, while diamond ornaments and crescent-shaped accents punctuate the surrounding spaces. Dark contour lines keep the elaborate arrangement legible, giving the work the character of an illuminated manuscript reimagined through contemporary abstraction.
