A close-up eye dominates the sheet in a finely observed graphite study, its long lashes and softly shaded lids rendered with delicate, directional strokes. At the center, a vivid red apple with a green leaf appears within the dark pupil, introducing a striking surreal interruption to the otherwise monochrome drawing. The restrained composition leaves generous paper around the eye, allowing the small burst of color to carry the work’s visual and symbolic weight.
