Versions Held Together

A vertically arranged triptych pairs a richly painted, close-cropped face with a nearly erased counterpart, leaving a narrow central panel for a poem about illness, family, memory, and the shifting selves we inhabit. The visible portrait emerges in warm flesh tones beneath a lavender head covering and dark facial hair, while the pale drawing on the opposite panel recedes like a remembered or unfinished self. Sparse spacing and the repeated phrase about “versions” give the installation a quiet, intimate tension.
