Woman with Red Guitar

A seated woman cradles a bright red guitar, her body angled diagonally across the canvas so that instrument and figure lock into a single rhythmic shape. Broad, painterly strokes leave the background rough and unsettled, allowing the warmer flesh tones and vivid crimson to carry the eye. The face is simplified but expressive, with a poised, inward smile that gives the scene a quietly intimate, performative feel. Dark contours around the chair and the blue shadow behind her help anchor the composition while preserving its loose, gestural energy.
