Woman Beneath the Golden Orbit

A stylized female portrait turns toward the left with closed eyes and vivid red lips, her flowing brown hair surrounded by concentric arcs, circular ornaments, and star-like marks. Deep cobalt blue fills the ground while gold and silver motifs organize the composition into a decorative, celestial field. The bare shoulders and elongated neck recall the elegant sensuality of fin-de-siècle portraiture, while the deliberately visible paint handling gives the work a personal, handcrafted character.
