A dense, unruly floral arrangement rises from a broad white vessel, its dark blossoms and tangled foliage punctuated by slender stems tipped with tiny red blooms. Loose, heavily worked marks build a textured mass at the center, while the pale green ground leaves generous space around the radiating silhouette. The contrast between the crisp container and the almost restless bouquet gives the still life a lively, slightly mysterious presence.
