Strength Woven in Scripture

A frontal portrait of my mother, a dignified woman in a vivid red headwrap and pale collared jacket occupies the center of the composition. Carefully rendered facial features, softly modeled shading, and a steady gaze give the figure a quiet presence, while handwritten biblical passages fill the surrounding ground like a devotional textile. The contrast between the saturated head covering, muted skin tones, and dark lettering makes the portrait feel both intimate and emblematic.
