Kuhlekonke Mokoena

Kuhlekonke Mokoena creates intimate portraits that explore partnership, identity, and faith through colored pencil and mixed media on paper. Carefully modeled faces, layered features, formal attire, headwraps, and handwritten certificates or biblical passages connect personal presence with cultural and spiritual narratives. The work balances tenderness and psychological intensity, inviting viewers to consider how memory, devotion, and official records shape the stories held within a face.
