David Hockney

A photographic collage assembles overlapping views of an elderly woman asleep in a dark patio chair, surrounded by a bright outdoor deck, garden foliage, household objects, and a small bundled figure at lower left. The deliberately misaligned fragments create a gently disjointed domestic scene, while the handwritten caption along the bottom gives the work the intimacy of a dated family memory.
