Fern Impressions in Pink

Delicate fern fronds spread diagonally across a white ground, their ribbed structures transferred in soft magenta and dusky violet with occasional green stems and scattered speckles. The piece has the airy directness of a botanical contact print, but its smudges, overlaps, and broken marks keep it from feeling clinical. Negative space plays a strong role, allowing the fronds to hover lightly while the offset impressions and splattered pigment suggest movement, touch, and the fleeting trace of a plant pressed against the surface.
