Two Faces in Orbit
Acrylic on canvas · Cubism
Interlocking faces emerge from a field of curved, overlapping planes, their features distilled into arcs, wedges, and elongated ovals. The composition stacks one visage above another, creating a totem-like vertical rhythm while preserving an intimate sense of exchange between the figures. Thick painted passages and dry-brushed edges leave the surface visibly worked, especially where pale cream forms press against deep charcoal, teal, ochre, and rust. The single open eye near the center becomes the emotional anchor of the piece, holding attention amid the fractured geometry and lending the abstraction a quietly human presence.
