March Beneath the Flag

A hand-drawn scene presents a small group of heavily outlined, camouflage-clad figures marching across a pale yellow ground. One figure carries a broad red, white, and black flag with a central emblem, while a large spotted golden object resembling a ceremonial hammer or drum occupies the upper left. Uneven coloring, emphatic black contours, and simplified forms give the work the directness of children’s illustration or vernacular folk art, with a spirited, symbolic procession filling the foreground.
