Tee-Jay

Tee-Jay, a Super Tusker, walks straight toward the viewer, filling the frame with weathered skin, heavy ears, and long ivory tusks, while small white egrets perched on its back lend a surprising note of delicacy. The frontal composition gives the animal a stately, almost iconic presence, and the soft, clouded horizon keeps attention on the mass and texture of the figure. Rendered in a sepia-toned photographic style, the work emphasizes the deep folds of the trunk and the rough grain of the hide, turning a wildlife encounter into something dignified and contemplative.
