Tower

A pair of giraffes rises prominently from a sun-bleached savanna in Norther Kenya's Lew Conservancy, their patterned bodies sharply defined against pale grasses and a spacious blue sky crowded with soft, towering clouds. The composition gives the animals a statuesque presence, with one figure turned slightly away while the other meets the horizon at an angle, creating a quiet sense of alert companionship. Crisp surface detail and heightened clarity lend the work a polished, near-photographic finish, while the distant hills and scattered thorny brush place the scene firmly within an open East African landscape. (A grouping of standing giraffe is called a tower.)
