Someone cared enough to create something beautiful for people to look at while they waited. And I think that matters more than they might ever know. Because these chairs hold people whose lives have been interrupted by a diagnosis. People waiting for chemotherapy, blood transfusions, test results, or news that could change everything. Some are frightened. Some are exhausted. Some are wondering how much time they have left. Others are simply hoping to make it out of here in time to pick their kids up from school. I wonder how many people have sat here wishing they were somewhere else. There is something deeply human about creating beauty in a place where so many people are suffering. Someone understood that patients needed something beautiful to look at. I hope we can build a healthcare system that understands they need just as much care in how they're treated.
