We look at something unusual like this and call it art. We celebrate its imperfections, its creativity, and everything that makes it different. Yet when a child thinks differently, when someone's gender challenges expectations, or when a person doesn't fit society's definition of normal, we are so quick to call it a disorder. I've spent much of my life being told that parts of me needed fixing. I took this photo because this art made me wonder. Why do we celebrate difference in art, but spend so much of our lives trying to correct it in people?
