Stag Beneath the Autumn Peak

A majestic stag stands in a shallow forest stream, framed by richly colored autumn trees and distant evergreen shadows. Beyond it, a sharply rendered, snow-covered mountain rises into a luminous misty sky, while birds cross the open space above the summit. The tall vertical composition draws the eye from the reflective water and animal to the mountain’s dramatic peak, giving the scene the presence of a romantic wilderness tableau.
