Under the Festive Tree

A documentary-style outdoor photograph records seven people gathered beside a brightly decorated tree or ceremonial pole, its bands of pink, purple, yellow, and green rising through the foliage. Women in vivid saris stand alongside two casually dressed men on a raised concrete platform, with a modest building, planted borders, and damp earth extending behind and below them. The vertical framing gives the ornament a strong central axis while the group forms a quiet, communal tableau beneath the cloudy sky.
