Anubis Beneath the Neon

A frontal portrait of the Egyptian jackal-headed deity Anubis dominates the composition, rendered with a solemn, masklike presence and luminous cyan eyes. The striped nemes headdress and central gold ornament emerge from a nearly black ground, while weathered hieroglyphic marks and scattered electric streaks suggest an ancient temple interrupted by a futuristic signal. Richly textured surfaces and dramatic symmetry give the piece the gravity of a sacred icon with a dark contemporary edge.
