Scorpio at the Charge

A sepia-toned graphite drawing presents an armored horseman advancing on a powerful steed, his spear rising diagonally while a round shield anchors the lower right of the composition. The rider’s swept cloak, plumed helmet, and concentrated profile evoke heroic historical illustration, while the horse’s muscular movement is articulated through layered contour lines and softly rubbed shading. A laurel-framed astrological emblem and the word “SCORPIO” lend the work the character of an antique zodiac plate.
