The Guardian of Cancer

A dramatic fantasy portrait presents an armored horseman riding forward through a shadowed field, his red-plumed helmet and sweeping crimson cloak set against an almost black ground. A glowing Cancer zodiac emblem crowns the upper left, echoed by the luminous crab device on the rider’s shield, while the horse’s pale head and the warrior’s raised spear create a strong diagonal structure. The burnished, old-master atmosphere gives the piece the solemn presence of a heraldic legend.
