The Ritual Keeper

A solemn, centrally composed figure stands against a nearly black earthen ground, eyes closed beneath a ridged headdress and forehead ornament. Layered striped garments, a decorated hanging panel, blue drapery, and bundles of raffia at the hands and feet give the character the presence of a ceremonial dancer or guardian. The rendering uses dense painterly texture, sharply modeled facial features, and restrained illumination, with the surrounding darkness making the figure feel both monumental and dreamlike.
