Stillness Among Draperies

A vertically composed graphite still life stages a slender wine glass, scattered linear objects, and a small birdlike form against an expansive field of folded fabric. Deeply worked shadows gather beneath the objects while lighter passages describe the cloth’s creases and reflective surfaces, giving the arrangement a quiet, theatrical presence. The meticulous tonal modeling and compressed grayscale lend the piece the feel of a contemporary academic drawing with a contemplative, slightly enigmatic atmosphere.
