Under the Courtyard Tree

A vintage black-and-white group portrait gathers eight people beneath the shade of a leafy tree outside a modest institutional building. Five figures sit in the foreground while three stand behind them, their formal clothing and composed poses giving the scene the quiet gravity of an archival record. Dappled light, worn surfaces, and visible film scratches lend the photograph a tactile sense of age and memory.
