The Battlemask Emerges

A vintage comic-book cover presents Jon Sable in mid-swing through a dense jungle, gripping a blade as figures and an elephant crowd the surrounding action. Bold cream and red title lettering dominates the upper field, while a circular inset below reveals the hero’s sharply shadowed red-and-black mask. Heavy black contours, dramatic foreshortening, and layered background activity give the composition the urgent, pulp-adventure energy of a 1980s illustrated cover.
