A Reel of Wonder

A cheerful, hand-painted composition gathers a vintage movie camera, rainbow, peace symbol, looping filmstrip, flying birds, dolphins, and a small landscape into one imaginative panorama. Broad outlined forms and visible brushwork give the piece the directness of folk illustration, while the sweeping filmstrip creates a strong curving rhythm that connects the separate scenes. The pale turquoise ground keeps the many symbols unified and gives the work an optimistic, dreamlike sense of movement.
